Screamify just dropped a new Micro Horror™ announcement and our collective heart rate is up. It's called Ravenmocker, and it's about a witch who steals hearts. Literally. Here's everything we know.

1. It's 20 episodes, 2 minutes each — and every one ends on a cliffhanger

Micro Horrors™ are Screamify's proprietary mobile-first format: vertically shot, built for your phone, engineered so you physically cannot stop at one. Twenty cliffhangers in a row. Good luck out there.

2. The monster is drawn from Cherokee folklore

The Ravenmocker is the heart-stealing witch of Cherokee legend. In the series, she's bound to a stretch of rural Tennessee by a Civil War love story that ended in blood. It's 1971, a carload of teenagers breaks down on a backroad, and… yeah. Wrong backroad.

3. The story jumps across a whole century

Two timelines: the 1860s and 1971. Director Gabe McCauley put it best on the carpet: "I'm excited about being able to tell a story that has historical relevancy and deals with actual myth — it has firm footing in actual lore, within Native American culture and within ours. We're going back to the '70s, and then back to the 1860s — we're getting across centuries."

4. The team has actual Emmys

Written by John White, directed by Gabe McCauley, produced by Soul Feather Studios — the two-time National Daytime Emmy-winning Nashville company behind PBS's Reconnecting Roots, which won two 2024 Daytime Emmys including Outstanding Writing Team. McCauley and producer Joel McAfee were among the honored writers. PBS prestige to two-minute horror is a pipeline we did not have on the bingo card.

5. It's coming soon — but there's no date yet

Ravenmocker is executive produced by Laryssa Goodlad for Screamify and Oh Gosh Yeah Entertainment, LLC, and joins a Micro Horrors™ slate that already includes Autonomous, Game Night: Survive the Slasher, and Scary Mary. It hits Screamify on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, and Samsung smart TVs (LG coming soon). No premiere date announced. We'll be refreshing.
